Sudden revolution on the planet Dekkanar brings Captain
Kirk and the Enterprise running to evacuate Federation
personnel trapped there. But their orders from Starfleet are

no more. No weapons are to be displayed, no shields raised,
no shots fired.

Meanwhile, halfway across the galaxy, an experimental
Klingon warship sets forth on a mission of its own, a warship
with hidden - and heretofore undreamed of - capabilities,
commanded by a warrior who will stop at nothing to bring
glory to his Empire - and restore his own lost honor.

The Klingon ship's destination? The planet Dekkanar . . .

TREKKIEGUY'S REVIEW

How come the Klingons are always building these
amazing experimental warships with super powers that
can devastate a Federation starship??
If they're able to do this, don't you think they would just
build a bunch of them and just wipe out Starfleet?

And what's with those orders? Can't raise the shields?
That's crazy - Starfleet wouldn't do that - and if they did,
Kirk would definitely disobey those orders because of one
fundamental reason: the Enterprise is his first priority.

This was an ok book, but I'm not fond of these types of stories
where they "handcuff" Kirk just to make the problem harder to solve.
