DAY OF HONOR - TREATY'S LAW

By: Dean Wesley Smith & Kristine Kathryn Rusch

Book #4 of 4

The Day of Honor is celebrated throughout
the Klingon Empire, but every tradition
had to begin somewhere . . .

Signi Beta is an M-class planet ideal for
farming.  The Federation wants Signi Beta,
but the Klingon Empire has the stronger
claim.  Captain Kirk hates to lose the
planet, especially to his old adversary,
Commander Kor.  Their mutual antagonism
turns into an uneasy alliance, however,
when yet another alien fleet attacks both
the Klingons and the U.S.S. Enterprise.
Now Kirk and Kor must rely on each
other's honor - or none of them may
survive to wage their war again.

TREKKIEGUY'S REVIEW

This is actually the last book in a series of 4 novels, but the
only one that takes place with the TOS characters.
The other books are from TNG, DS9 and VOYAGER respectively,
and are not reviewed here.

Each novel is independent of the others but they all
deal with the "Day of Honor" that the Klingons celebrate.

Another planet that both the Federation and the Klingons want.
The Organian Peace Treaty has never been a favorite of mine
and this is another example of a story that takes its theme from that.

I do like the character of Kor from the original series.  I thought
he was the second best Klingon (next to Kang), and so this
novel brings back some of the feelings from the classic
episode "Errand of Mercy" where we met Kor for the first time.

It's a pretty good novel - I enjoyed it.
